Water is a very important element of human environment.
It is essential for all kinds of lives. Clean water is healthful but polluted
water is very harmful. Water can be polluted in many ways. Farmers use chemical
fertilizers and various insecticides in their fields. Some of these get mixed
with water through rain and floods and pollute it. Mills and factories throw
their waste products into rivers and canals and pollute water. From latrines
and drains human-waste and filth fall into rivers and canals and pollute water.
Again, motor launches, steamers and even sail boats pollute water by throwing
oil, food-waste and human-waste into the rivers. By drinking this impure water many
people often get sick and die. So, we should prevent water pollution for a
healthier and happier life.

Water is an important element of environment. Men cannot live without it. Pure
water is essential for health. Water is polluted in various ways. Chemical
fertilizers and insecticides are used in the fields by the farmers. Rain and
floods wash away some of these chemicals and mix them with the water of rivers,
canals and ponds. Besides these, mills and factories throw their waste into
rivers and canals and pollute the water. Boats, steamers, launch throw oil,
food and human waste the water of rivers and canals. Oil tenders often clean
out their tanks at sea and power houses release hot water into river which
kills flash and plants. A lot of latrines are built on the banks of rivers and
canals. A number of ‘kutcha’ drains run
into rivers and canals. These drains carry human waste and filth and let them
fall into the water. Polluted water causes incurable diseases to men. So, we should
